The MODI Project recently gained significant visibility on Italy’s leading public broadcaster, RAI – Radiotelevisione Italiana. In a television segment dedicated to innovation in Hamburg, RAI highlighted the city’s growing role as a European hub for the transformation of mobility and logistics. Representing MODI, Gruber Logistics discussed the project’s pioneering work in automated heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) transport, emphasizing the collaborative efforts driving innovation across Europe.
The feature showcased how Hamburg is becoming a testbed for the next generation of transport and logistics solutions. Through the Use Case Germany, MODI is currently conducting real-world demonstrations of connected, cooperative, and automated mobility (CCAM) technologies using automated heavy freight vehicles. These trials are designed to test and refine the integration of automation within logistics chains, to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability across European transport networks.
Being featured by RAI underscores not only the progress of the MODI Project but also the growing public and media interest in the future of automated freight transport. It reflects the shared commitment of the project’s consortium and Hamburg’s local stakeholders to make advanced CCAM solutions a practical reality.
Engaging with the wider European audience remains a core part of MODI’s mission. Beyond advancing technology, the project seeks to communicate openly about how automation can benefit society — from reducing emissions and congestion to enhancing safety and operational efficiency in logistics.
