Last week, the MODI Project proudly took part in EUCAD 2025, held in Ispra, Italy—Europe’s leading policy, research, and industry conference on Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (CCAM). Organised by the European Commission, the CCAM Association, and ERTRAC, EUCAD brought together top innovators, public authorities, and mobility experts to shape the future of CCAM in Europe.
As a Horizon Europe flagship project focused on cross-border automated logistics, MODI showcased its most recent developments—both technical and policy-driven—that contribute to a safer, smarter and more interoperable freight transport system across Europe.
Engaging Exhibits and On-Site Demonstrations
At the dedicated exhibition area, MODI welcomed attendees to its stand hosted by IN-MOVE. The booth offered visitors an immersive introduction to the project’s mission and recent milestones, with:
-
MODI new promotional video (beta version)
-
Use case footage, including the Netherlands’ first demo by TNO and the V2X Cooperative Merging developed by Volvo
-
A potential live stream from the VRU-crossing in Hamburg, developed by New Mobility Solutions, showcasing how MODI addresses vulnerable road user safety
A consortium partner meet-and-greet and group photo opportunity on Wednesday, 14 May, further reinforced MODI’s collaborative and international nature.
On the demonstration grounds, MODI presented a static display of a DAF truck, one of the pilot vehicles used in the project’s real-life trials. This drew high interest from EUCAD keynote speakers and delegates during their visit on 13 May, where MODI experts explained how the project navigates challenges around cross-border operations, digital infrastructure, and remote supervision.
MODI Voices at the Conference
MODI also featured prominently in the official EUCAD 2025 programme, with project partners contributing to four key conference sessions:
-
