Fresh from a high-impact presence at EUCAD 2025, the MODI Project continued its strong momentum with an active role at the ITS European Congress 2025, held from 19–21 May in Seville, Spain. As one of Europe’s key events for smart mobility and transport digitalisation, the congress provided an ideal platform for MODI to further its mission of transforming connected and automated logistics.
This back-to-back presence at two of the continent’s most influential mobility events underscores MODI’s commitment to continuous communication, strategic dissemination, and pan-European engagement. Through both technical presentations and on-site outreach, MODI partners showcased how the project is contributing real-world solutions and knowledge to help shape a safer, smarter, and more connected freight future — in Europe and beyond.
Showcasing MODI’s Innovations in CCAM Logistics
At the Nordic+ Pavilion, MODI partners engaged with attendees and fellow exhibitors to present the project’s advancements in Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) for freight. The exhibition served as a central meeting point to discuss:
-
Cross-border automation challenges and enablers
-
Digital infrastructure and harmonised data exchange
-
Real-world testing environments and pilot insights
Visitors were able to learn about MODI’s work on automating logistics corridors and integrating Level 4 vehicles into existing freight networks.
Technical Contributions and Knowledge Sharing
MODI’s influence extended beyond the exhibition area, with its partners contributing to two key sessions in the official programme:
🚚 Collaborative Traffic Management for Level 4 CCAM Freight Transport
📅 19 May 2025, 11:45–12:55
📍 Room Madrid D
🗣 Speaker: Jop Spoelstra (Technolution Move)
This session discussed how collaborative traffic management can support the safe deployment of automated freight vehicles on public roads, drawing from MODI’s cross-border pilot experiences.
📦 Freight and Logistics Digitalisation
📅 20 May 2025, 12:25–13:10
📍 Auditorium 3
🗣 Speaker: Jop Spoelstra (Technolution Move)
The presentation focused on the role of automation and data-driven operations in improving terminal efficiency and logistics chain performance, with direct relevance to MODI’s use cases.
Engaging with the European Mobility Community
Beyond formal sessions, MODI partners took part in networking events, high-level exchanges, and informal conversations that helped strengthen the project’s visibility and strategic partnerships. The congress proved to be a fruitful opportunity for MODI to expand its reach and invite new stakeholders into the conversation around CCAM freight innovation.
Looking Ahead
MODI’s active presence at the ITS European Congress 2025, just days after EUCAD 2025, signals the project’s strong dedication to not only delivering technical excellence but also communicating its ambition and future impact. By participating in Europe’s most prominent mobility forums, MODI is laying the groundwork for a broad, well-informed adoption of automated logistics solutions that are scalable, interoperable, and safe.
Stay tuned for further updates on our ongoing initiatives as the MODI consortium continues to expand global partnerships and drive innovation in the CCAM arena.
