MODI UC Sweden partners are launching a series of 6 short videos and a longer movie from Use Case Sweden to share insights and lessons learned from more than three years of work on automation in real logistics operations.
The short videos and the longer movie are being released between April and May 2026 through the LinkedIn profile of Lindholmen Science, Use Case Sweden leader.

The series explains how different automated solutions are being tested within the Swedish use case and how these activities contribute to MODI’s broader goal of accelerating Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) deployment in logistics.

Automation across the logistics chain
The Swedish use case explores how automation can support more efficient, safe and sustainable logistics operations, contributing to the deployment of CCAM solutions in logistics.
The video series highlights key areas of work across the logistics chain, presented through the following short videos:
- Automated driving
Demonstrates how autonomous electric trucks are being integrated into logistics operations, improving efficiency and safety in real transport scenarios. - Automated charging
Shows how charging processes are automated to support continuous autonomous operations, increasing efficiency while reducing emissions. - Automated gate access
Focuses on how autonomous vehicles can safely and efficiently access restricted logistics areas through automated and secure systems. - Automated lane changing
Explores how automated driving functions contribute to safer and more efficient vehicle behaviour in real traffic environments. - Automated loading and unloading
Demonstrates how automated handling solutions improve efficiency in logistics hubs by enabling continuous and optimised operations. - Automated port operations
Highlights how automation and digitalisation improve coordination, safety and transparency in port logistics environments.
Together, these short videos and the longer movie illustrate how automation can be applied across the full logistics chain. These activities are carried out within the Swedish use case led by Lindholmen Science Park, involving partners including: Volvo, Einride, Gothenburg RoRo Terminal, DFDS, Q-Free, AstaZero, Trafikverket and Lindholmen Science Park.

From use case work to MODI results
The Swedish use case contributes to MODI’s wider results by generating insights from real logistics operations. These lessons support the project’s work on recommendations, best practices, harmonisation, standardisation and future CCAM deployment in Europe.
The results also contribute to addressing key challenges such as transport inefficiencies, greenhouse gas emissions, and the shortage of professional drivers, while supporting the integration of automated solutions into logistics systems.

Towards the final phase of MODI
The release of the Swedish use case video series supports the transition from Communication & Dissemination Stage 3 – “Unlocking key findings” towards Stage 4 – “Exploitation amd MODI legacy”.
As the series is released, MODI continues to consolidate results and contribute to the deployment of CCAM solutions in logistics across Europe, supporting efficient, safe and sustainable transport systems.
