On November 6th, Bjor Gronnevet introduced MODI to the Standing Committee on Transport and Communications of the Norwegian Parliament.
The presentation focused on transportation technologies, regulations affecting border crossings, and international cooperation projects in this area. The MODI project aroused the interest of the elected politicians from Viken County and the Standing Committee on Transport and Communications, who learned first-hand about the profitable business models for logistics through automated transport. Also, they learnt how MODI will identify and resolve barriers to the rollout of highly automated vehicles for freight transport.
Norway is an essential point on MODI’s roadmap, as the project will demonstrate automated heavy-haul vehicle use cases on the motorway corridor from Rotterdam in the Netherlands to Moss in Norway, crossing four national borders and establishing terminal operations at four different harbors and terminals en route.
