The conference Smarte Veger (“Smart Roads”) was held on 20 September in Oslo, Vika. A MODI-based programme focusing on automated transport, gave insight on expectations from the European Commission, industry players’ motivation for automation, user requirements, societal benefits and much more.
MODI Project was highlighted as a collaborative project that will accelerate the introduction of Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) solutions to significantly improve logistic chains. Relations between ongoing EC-funded projects were elaborated as the Horizon 2020 project AWARD and Horizon Europe project ULTIMO were invited to share their perspective on automation.
Andrea de Candido (EU Commission) shared his expectations to MODI and highlighted this as a flagship project. The conference was moderated by the MODI Coordinator Ragnhild Wahl (ITS Norway) and involved several MODI partners on stage: The Norwegian mapping authorities, Viken County, DFDS, Einride, Norwegian institute of transport economics , Port of Moss, Q-Free and SINTEF.
